Happy

Am I happy?
At 15, the answer was, "Not exactly, but what can I do about it? Someday, though..." At 21, happiness was in my hands and I tried one thing after another, each time sure I would find it. At 25, it was something I'd pursue again once I finished `paying' for all I had acquired in my early twenties. Past 30, the question began to bother me again, like a pesty little fly buzzing around my ears, so I kept myself busy trying not to deal with it.
Do you ever ask yourself the question, you know, the `Am I happy' one? I suspect the answer will depend on what you want to do with those last remaining dreams:
Give them up forever?
Pursue them?
Are you happy!?
Dodge the question...if you can.
Answer it only when you realize the risk;
for a `no' then moves you to the point of `choice'
acceptance or change.
And never think for a moment you can escape the asking, for the question lives within you and will, in time, answer itself.
