Easter Reflection

I am willing to be crucified, to die on this cross because that is the only thing standing between you and me. After I do, it will seem as if I am no longer with you; so until we are together again, will you care for each other? Will you love each other as I love you?

If you do not feel my love for you, then you won't understand my love for your neighbor and you may mistrust him...you won't love him as I love him. You may take on an attitude of not caring, not loving. And if you look at each other without love you will be fearful of each other. In all you do, remember this person is someone I have asked you to take care of for me. Someone I love. Be together in your life as you will be in your resurrection... for it is promised to all of you.

Some will be difficult to love — but I am dying for each one of you, whether you know me or not. So love the unlovables; they are most in need, for they are blind to their goodness as they are blind to my death. They will not see you but you will see them. If you simply cannot love them, remember I do and have asked you to love for me. Do not be impatient and mistrusting for you will hurt each other, and there is too much pain within each of you already.

Each time you sacrifice yourself for another, remember me. And if it is not appreciated by those you sacrificed for, remember me. I will understand.

And when we are once more united in our love, I will remember you. We will be comfortable old friends, together once more. For I will not be a stranger to you in death anymore than I was a stranger to you in life.

Let us go then and be about our work lest the days grow short.
